A Sweet Treat For Your Tuesday: Campfire Cones

Well. It’s summer time!! YAY!!

Which means camping… or atleast campfires!

And in my books campfires = s’mores

This year for our camping trip we decided to try something a bit different when in came to the s’mores.

About a month or two ago my husband showed me a picture of these icecream cones stuffed with chocolate and marshmallows, and that idea stuck in my head so I decided to give it a try!

Here’s what you need:

  • Icecream cones (I went for waffle cones because they are way better than plain cones 🙂 )
  • Chocolate of your choice
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Any other fun fillings
  • Tinfoil

You can make so many different types of these campfire cones. I made four different kinds: reeses cups, oreo, m&m, and classic s’more.

It’s super simple. Take one waffle cone add in the fillings you would like… marshmallows, chocolate, etc. Then wrap the cone up with tinfoil! Done!

Take your pre-wrapped cones with you camping and set them on the grill of a fire pit for 5ish minutes (or until the marshmallows and chocolate are melted). And enjoy!!!

Yum!! These are a great twist on the classic s’more 🙂 And not to mention a whole lot less sticky to eat!

A Sweet Treat for Your Tuesday: Mini Egg Trifle

Mini Egg Trifle

Easter is sneaking up on us! Just under 2 weeks away. That means it time for some Easter desserts!

Trifles are on the top of my list when it comes to easy desserts. And the best part is that you can make them with anything: cake, brownies, fruit, chocolate bars, cookies…

…so I thought, why not try mini eggs! It would make the perfect Easter themed dessert.

Here’s what you need:

|| Double batch of brownies (prepared) || Chocolate pudding (prepared) || Whipping cream || 1 cup of Cream Cheese ||10 Oreo Cookies || 2-3 cups of Mini eggs ||

Prepare your brownies and pudding.

Let the pudding set in the fridge and the brownies cool.

Once your pudding is set, mix in the cup of cream cheese, so that it is fully combined, then mix in the 10 oreos (crushed). You’ll end up with a rich and creamy oreo pudding mixture.

Whip up your whipping cream. Crush 1.5 -2 cups of mini eggs into smaller pieces.

That’s it!

Time to assemble.

Layer the brownie, pudding, crushed mini eggs and whipping cream until you reach the top of your trifle dish.

Ending with the whipping cream and top with the leftover whole mini eggs.

Mmmmmm! This is the BEST dessert! The cream cheese cuts out a bit of the ‘richness’ of all the chocolate, but this will definitely satisfy any sweet-tooth out there!

Not to mention it is literally the easiest dessert to make; and with it being SO GOOD I promise you it will disappear quickly!

The trifle should keep well in the fridge for a few days, but I can’t tell you from experience beyond day two… because it never lasts that long… 🙂

A Sweet Treat For Your Tuesday: Valentine’s Day Chocolate Chip Cookies

imageWell, it’s Valentine’s week!!!

And the sweet teats, hearts, pink and red are in full swing.

My most favorite treat there is would have to be  fresh-out-of-the-oven Chocolate Chip Cookies. YUM!

I shared my favorite Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe a few months ago… and I’m using it again…

…Why mess with a good thing?!?

So, these are my classic Chocolate Chip Cookies but with a Valentine’s Day twist!!

image There are all sorts of different ‘valentine’ themed candies, sprinkles, chocolates. I just picked a few that appealed to me. Red and pink smarties, chocolate hearts, cookies and cream chocolate hearts, chocolate kisses and some cute heart sprinkles.

I whipped up a double batch of my favorite chocolate chip cookies, and added the smarties, sprinkles and chocolate hearts to different cookies. That way the cookies are each a bit different!

This recipe can’t go wrong, so I did a bit of experimenting and tried some cookies in my individual brownie pan as well!

Pop them in the oven, and do they ever smell good 🙂 Mmmmmmmmm!

The regular cookies turned out great!! And I love that they are all ‘valentine-ish’ but are each bit different with either the smarties, or chocolate hearts.

The square cookies turned out great as well! They have a bit more of a crunch on the edge with a soft and chewy middle.

It’s easy to take a classic recipe you know will turn out great and add a bit of a twist to make it work for any holiday.

These Chocolate Chip Cookies are SO GOOD, but with a bit of extra pink, red, and heart shaped candy, they make the perfect cookies for Valentine’s Day celebrations!

A Sweet Treat For Your Tuesday: Sugar Cookie Donuts

imageI love cookies. I love donuts. I love donut shaped cookies!!

Here is a simple sugar cookie recipe that does not require any ‘chilling’.

YAY for quick and easy cookies that taste amazing!

A good sugar cookie recipe is a MUST, you can use it for everything, Christmas, Valentine’s day, or any occasion that requires some cookie decorating!

You know its a good recipe when you try yummy cookies and ask for the recipe! That’s how I got this one! Turns this is the sugar cookie recipe off of the back of the Wilton cookie cutters! It’s a winner of a recipe 🙂

These classic cookies have all your regular ingredients, sugar, flour, butter, 1 egg, etc.

Here’s the recipe:

Mix all of your ingredients according to the recipe, roll your dough and cut out the cookies.

You could choose any shape for your cookies, hearts, circles, stars, anything! I went with donut shape 🙂 And I think they turned out pretty cute!

With a little bit of icing, a few sprinkles you have yourself some donut cookies!!

A Sweet Treat For Your Tuesday: Nutella Pocket Pies

Mmmmmmmm 🙂 Anyone else a big fan of Nutella?!

Well I sure am, especially if its part of a simple and easy-to-bake dessert!!

These Nutella Pocket Pies are made with of 3 ingredients: Nutella, pie crust, and a handful of chocolate chips.

So simple and so good!

Here’s how to make these tasty treats – Cut out the pie dough into whatever shape you’d like: circle, square, heart, anything!

Put a scoop of Nutella on one of the cutouts, wet the edges and top with a second piece of pie crust, and then press down the edges.

Bake at 350 Fahrenheit for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

These mini pies are flaky with that Nutella-goodness in the center!

And you know what makes them even better ?? A drizzle of chocolate! Melt a few chocolate chips and give the pastries a final topping of drizzled chocolate.

YUM!! These are SO good. We may have had them as part of our Saturday morning breakfast/brunch… but its ok because Nutella is a breakfast food right?!?
