A Sweet Treat for your Tuesday: Mini Chocolate Bar Cookies

I don’t know about you, but we had a bowl ofΒ  leftover mini candy bars … technically we could just put them in the freezer and slowly eat away at the stash… or kick it up a notch and make cookies!!!

I opted for option 2!

Might as well use that candy in some baking!! I previously posted an idea for fall candy bark as one idea to reuse extra candy …. but here is another idea!!

I re-purposed my FAVORITE chocolate chip cookies and swapped the chocolate chips with the mini chocolate bars.

You can find my cookie dough recipe here. And trust me this dough makes the BEST cookies out there πŸ™‚ soft and chewy!

Start by making the cookies just like normal, flour, sugar, butter, vanilla, etc. Just leave out the chocolate chips.

Chop up your chocolate bars and mix them into the dough. I had reese’s cups, hershey bars, reese’s pieces, o’henry bars, rolos, and I also threw in some white chocolate chips as well.

Use whatever mini chocolate bars you have. It makes every bite a bit different πŸ™‚ yum!!!

This cookie dough lasts in the freezer for up to 3 months. Make sure to keep it in a well sealed bag.

I always pre-scoop/roll the cookie dough, that way I can grab a few cookie dough balls from the freezer and pop them in the oven for fresh baked cookies!!
