I can’t believe sweet Baby S is already 10 months!! How did that happen?! Time sure flies with a baby; I feel like I’ve blinked and we are almost at a year!
I’ve been doing a bit of ‘first birthday party’ brainstorming over here and that got me a bit nostalgic, so I ended up scrolling through some of her newborn photos.
Gaaahhh she was the cutest little newborn :). So I thought I would share just a few pictures.
She had (and still has, just a bit longer and blonder) the sweetest fluffy hair with a little swirl on the back of her head. The cutest!!
A bit of baby spam to make your Monday a bit brighter!
‘Little Pumpkin’ coming soon!
Here are a few of our baby announcement photos… 6 months late!
Just 16 more weeks till our little pumpkin arrives 🙂
Last fall we found this cute berry farm, with a great brunch place, cute stores and a ‘u-pick’ for all sorts of berries. The only thing was… we missed berry picking season!! So all year we have been set on going back this summer at the right time and doing a bit of berry picking!
This past weekend was the weekend. Berry picking time! Now with all the rain and hail we’ve been having the only berry option for picking was sour cherries. We’ll take it!
After brunch we got ourselves some berry picking buckets. Worked our way through the maze of bushes and eventually managed to find the sour cherries. Follow the cherry signs!
Let the picking begin!!
In no time our buckets went from empty to overflowing!
Before and after 🙂
One successful group of berry pickers!
Now to baking everything sour cherry!
Happy Friday!! And even happier Friday of a long weekend 🙂
This week has been on and off sun and rain, and then more sun and rain!
Somehow its sunny during the day while I’m at work and then in the evening it rains like crazy. We’re talking thunder, lightening, hail… the works.
So! I’ve been reminiscing about warmth and our summer vacation a few weeks ago; especially our camping trip.
Basically this whole summer has been rainy but somehow we managed to plan a camping trip at just the right time and avoided rain… until the last day just as we were leaving, so it worked out perfectly!
We bought these extra comfy chairs that can recline, and then basically spent the entire time reading, eating, and going for walks. Talk about the perfect few days!
We cooked everything over the fire, which I was super proud of us for!
Breakfasts were the best: coffee, bacon and even monkey bread, all made over the fire! Yum!
Camping = relaxing. Nothing beats the peace and quiet.
Here’s hoping for sun this weekend!
Well. It’s summer time!! YAY!!
Which means camping… or atleast campfires!
And in my books campfires = s’mores
This year for our camping trip we decided to try something a bit different when in came to the s’mores.
About a month or two ago my husband showed me a picture of these icecream cones stuffed with chocolate and marshmallows, and that idea stuck in my head so I decided to give it a try!
Here’s what you need:
- Icecream cones (I went for waffle cones because they are way better than plain cones 🙂 )
- Chocolate of your choice
- Mini marshmallows
- Any other fun fillings
You can make so many different types of these campfire cones. I made four different kinds: reeses cups, oreo, m&m, and classic s’more.
It’s super simple. Take one waffle cone add in the fillings you would like… marshmallows, chocolate, etc. Then wrap the cone up with tinfoil! Done!
Take your pre-wrapped cones with you camping and set them on the grill of a fire pit for 5ish minutes (or until the marshmallows and chocolate are melted). And enjoy!!!
Yum!! These are a great twist on the classic s’more 🙂 And not to mention a whole lot less sticky to eat!
